Fish oil supplements vary widely in quality. Look for third-party testing certifications and products that specify the amount of actual EPA and DHA, not just total omega-3 content.
Beyond Brain Health
DHA also supports retinal health. Studies show that people who consume adequate DHA have a 30 percent lower risk of age-related macular degeneration. This connection makes sense, since the retina is essentially an extension of brain tissue.
